06 Feb 2026: π¬ Messaging β Add Additional Team Members When Auto Activating Direct Channels
Weβve enhanced the Auto-Activate Patient Direct Message Channel functionality to give Organisations more control over who is included when a Patient is created.
Previously, the Allocation Team Member was automatically added by default. This is no longer the case.
Organisations must now actively choose which Team Members should be auto-added β with built-in safeguards to ensure at least one Team Member is always included.
β¨ Whatβs New
-
π₯ Nominate Team Members (No Default Auto-Add)
The Allocation Team Member is no longer automatically added by default.
Organisations must now select which Team Members should be included in the Patient Direct Message Channel. -
β Minimum One Team Member Required
At least one Team Member must be selected for auto-activation to be enabled. -
π Smart Fallback Logic
If only one Team Member is selected and they are later Archived, the system will fall back to adding the Allocation Team Member to ensure the channel is never left without a Team Member. -
π Channel Created & Ready Instantly
When a Patient is created and auto-activation is enabled:-
The Direct Message Channel is created
-
All nominated Team Members are automatically added
-
π‘ How It Helps
-
π― Greater Organisational Control
Organisations can now intentionally define which Team Members are included, rather than relying on automatic defaults. -
π₯ Supports Intake & Shared Inbox Models
Ideal for Organisations with intake teams, shared communication roles, or structured triage processes. -
π Ensures Communication Continuity
The fallback logic prevents situations where a Patient channel could be left without a Team Member due to archiving. -
β‘ Reduced Manual Setup
Communication channels are correctly configured from the moment a Patient is created.
This update gives Organisations clearer control over Patient communication workflows while maintaining safe-guarded continuity of care π
