23 Oct 2025: ✨ Patient Groups – Bookable Providers

We’ve made a significant improvement to privacy and booking logic within Patient Groups.

Clinician Access and Bookable status are now decoupled — giving Organisations greater control over visibility and scheduling.

✨ What’s Changed

🔄 Access & Bookable Status Are Now Separate

Previously:

• For a Clinician to be bookable by a patient

• They had to be in the same Patient Group

• This automatically granted them access to all patients in that group

This created an access control issue — especially in larger Organisations where not every clinician should see every patient.

🆕 New Flexible Model

Within Patient Groups, Clinicians can now be configured independently as:

• 👁️ Access Only
  → Can view patients (based on permissions)
  → Not available for booking

• 📅 Bookable Only
  → Patients can book them
  → They do not automatically gain group-wide patient visibility

• 🔄 Access + Bookable
  → Can both view patients and be booked

🔗 How It Works with Care Teams

With the transition from Primary Clinician to Care Team:

• When a booking is made between a Patient and Clinician

• The Care Team logic will automatically connect them

• The Clinician will then be able to view that patient appropriately

This ensures access is granted through actual care relationships, not broad group membership.
