Aug 19 2025: 📅 Internal Appointment Notifications & Reminders

We’ve completed a major overhaul of the appointments notification system retiring usage of external services and moving all functionality in-house. This gives us greater flexibility, control, and future capability.

✨ What’s New

• 📧 Confirmation emails – Sent to both patients and clinicians when an appointment is booked.

• ❌ Cancellation emails – Sent to both patients and clinicians when an appointment is cancelled.

• ⏰ Reminder emails – Sent 48 hours before an appointment begins to patients and clinicians.

• 📲 Push notifications for patients – Patients now also receive push notifications for confirmations, cancellations, and reminders (in addition to emails).

💡 How it helps

• Greater reliability – Notifications are now powered internally, ensuring consistency and removing reliance on third-party services.

• Better patient engagement – Push notifications complement emails, increasing the likelihood patients are reminded in time.
