Direct Messages (DMs)

Direct Messages (DMs) allow Team Members to communicate securely in private channels that are not tied to a patient profile. They can be one-to-one or involve multiple Team Members.


💬 What are Direct Messages?

  • A private channel for Team Members only.

  • Can be 2 or more participants.

  • Not connected to a patient record.

  • Ideal for coordination, quick discussions, or sharing updates internally.


🛠️ How to Start a Direct Message

  1. Open the Message Centre in the Clinical Portal.

  2. Go to the Direct Messages section.

  3. Click the ➕ (plus) button.

  4. Search for and select the Team Member(s) you’d like to include.

  5. ✅ A DM channel will be created and appear in all selected participants’ Message Centre lists.

🔒 Privacy & Security

  • Only Team Members added to the DM can see its content.

  • DMs are secure and compliant, just like other channel types.

  • 🚫 DMs are not logged in patient records, since they are not patient-related.
