Intro to Patient Groups
Patient Groups are how Wellifiy customises care, content, and Team Member access for different cohorts of Patients.
A Patient Group is a configurable container that defines:
-
✅ What content and features the patient sees in the mobile app and web portal
- ✅ Which Team Members are connected to the group
- ✅ Which Providers can be booked by patients associated with the Patient Group
-
✅ Which Services can be booked by patients associated with the Patient Group
-
✅ What crisis or emergency services are shown
-
✅ Which patients are grouped together for management and visibility
This enables organisations to tailor the digital experience based on condition, program type, funding source, or service line (e.g., Addiction Recovery, Maternal Health, Anxiety Support).
🎯 Why Use Patient Groups?
-
Segment care pathways by condition, service, or demographic
-
Control content access so each group only sees relevant modules
-
Assign team members to make them bookable by patients (organisations that allow patient self-booking only)
-
Improve patient experience with streamlined and relevant tools
-
Simplify administration by managing patient visibility and resources at scale
📱 What Patients See
The Patient Group they’re assigned to will determine what module a patient has access to in their mobile app and web portal
👩⚕️ Team Member Access and Visibility
When a Team Member is assigned to a Patient Group:
-
Patients in that group will be able to view the Team Member in the bookable providers list if:
-
Patient self-booking is enabled for the organisation, and
-
The Team Member has enabled the "Display Profile in Patient App Available Providers List" toggle
-
-
Team Members who do not have the “View All Patients” permission will only see:
-
Patient that they are in the Care Team of, and
-
Patients assigned to groups they have Team Member Access for
-
🔐 Who Manages Patient Groups?
-
Only users with the Patient Management permissions can create, edit, or delete Patient Groups
-
Team Members can view or be assigned to groups based on their role permissions
