# Leaving Channels

Team Members can leave messaging channels, but every channel must always have **at least one Team Member**. This ensures patients are never left without a point of contact.

### 👩‍⚕️ Rules for Leaving Channels

- ✅ Team Members can leave **Patient Channels, Staff Channels, or Group Channels**.
- ⚠️ A channel must always have at least **one Team Member remaining**.
- 🚫 If you are the only Team Member in a channel, you cannot leave until another Team Member has joined.

### ➡️ How to Leave a Channel

1. Open the channel in the **Message Centre**.
2. Click the **Action menu (•••)**.
3. Select **Leave Channel**.
4. Confirm the action.
5. ✅ The channel will be removed from your Message Centre list.

### 👥 Ensuring Coverage Before Leaving

- If you are the only Team Member in the channel:
  
    - Add another Team Member to the channel first.
- Once another Team Member has been added, you will then be able to leave.

### 📌 Key Points

- Channels can never be left without a Team Member.
- Team Members can freely leave once another Team Member is present.
- Patients remain connected to their care team without interruption.
