Leaving Channels

Team Members can leave messaging channels, but every channel must always have at least one Team Member. This ensures patients are never left without a point of contact.


👩‍⚕️ Rules for Leaving Channels

  • ✅ Team Members can leave Patient Channels, Staff Channels, or Group Channels.

  • ⚠️ A channel must always have at least one Team Member remaining.

  • 🚫 If you are the only Team Member in a channel, you cannot leave until another Team Member has joined.


➡️ How to Leave a Channel

  1. Open the channel in the Message Centre.

  2. Click the Action menu (•••).

  3. Select Leave Channel.

  4. Confirm the action.

  5. ✅ The channel will be removed from your Message Centre list.


👥 Ensuring Coverage Before Leaving

  • If you are the only Team Member in the channel:

    • Add another Team Member to the channel first.

  • Once another Team Member has been added, you will then be able to leave.
