Understanding My To-Do List & Patient Tasks
In this article, we'll explain how My To-Do List and Patient Tasks work, how they connect, and what visibility Team Members have.
👉 Important: These tasks are Team Member-facing only - although tasks can be associated with patients, patients do not see these tasks.
🗂 What is My To-Do List?
The My To-Do List is your personal task manager, found on the Dashboard. It helps you track everything you need to action, whether it’s patient-related or general admin work.
-
✅ Examples:
-
“Complete follow-up phone call” for Patient A
-
“Send out program information” for Patient B
-
“Book team meeting” (non-patient related)
-
-
🧑💻 Who sees it?
-
Only visible to Team Members and Admins.
-
Patients never see My To-Do List tasks.
-
-
➕ How to add a task:
-
Click + New on the Dashboard.
-
You can choose to link the task to a specific Patient or leave it unlinked as a general task.
-
Fields: Task Title, Assignee, Due Date, (Optional) Patient.
-
👤 What are Patient Tasks?
Patient Tasks are tasks that are linked directly to a specific Patient. These appear within the Patient’s Profile under the Overview tab in the Patient Tasks section.
-
✅ Examples:
-
“Medication review required” for Dani Sunshine.
-
“2-day follow-up call” for a patient post-discharge.
-
-
🧑💻 Who sees it?
-
Visible to Team Members and Admins in the Patient’s Profile.
-
Patients do not see these tasks in their App or Portal.
-
-
➕ How to add a task:
-
Navigate to the Patient’s Profile > Overview > Patient Tasks.
-
Click + New and fill out the task details (Patient, Title, Assignee, Due Date).
-
🔄 How Do They Connect?
| Aspect | My To-Do List | Patient Tasks |
|---|---|---|
| Where it appears | Dashboard (Global task list) | Patient Profile (Overview tab) |
| Linked to a Patient? | Optional — Can be linked to a Patient or left general | Always linked to a Patient |
| Created via | Dashboard + New button | Patient Profile + New button |
| Visibility to Patients | ❌ Not visible to Patients | ❌ Not visible to Patients |
| Visibility to Team Members | ✅ Appears on Dashboard | ✅ Appears in Patient Profile & Dashboard (if assigned to you) |
| One task or two? | If linked to a Patient → It will also appear under Patient Tasks | Always a Patient Task and will also show in your To-Do List |
🧩 Key Behaviour Explained:
-
All Patient Tasks are also visible in your My To-Do List.
-
When you create a task via My To-Do List and link it to a Patient, it will automatically appear in both:
-
Your To-Do List (Dashboard)
-
The Patient’s Task list (Profile Overview tab)
-
-
Tasks created via My To-Do List that are not linked to a Patient will remain personal/general and will not show up in any Patient Profile.
-
Tasks created via Patient Profile are always connected to that Patient and will automatically appear in your To-Do List as well.
💡 Summary
-
My To-Do List = Personal task list that can include both general and patient-specific tasks.
-
Patient Tasks = Always linked to a specific Patient.
-
Tasks flow downward from My To-Do List to Patient Tasks when linked, but non-patient tasks stay as general To-Do List items.
-
These tasks are for Team Member visibility only — Patients never see them.
